Something to think about:

From Mark Manson’s Your Next Breakthrough Newsletter described as 5-Minutes that might change your life.

“Your ancestors survived centuries of floods, wars, famine, slavery, and plagues for you to sit on your toilet and compare your life to people on the internet you never met.”

Be Grateful:

This statement is so true for so many, but also sad for our younger generations who have grown-up with social media. We could consider this in two ways a positive and negative spin. Positive is the fact that you can listen to podcast, read newsletters, watch YouTube and learn how to do almost anything which in the end will only help you grow. But sadly there are too many people who have been negatively affected by social media as well, especially teenagers.

I think I found this simple statement noteworthy because as I talk, it puts things in perspective. Everyday try to have some perspective – when you get cut off in traffic maybe don’t get mad and understand they may be heading to the hospital. When an employee makes a small mistake don’t act like they burned down your customer’s house. Brian, that’s for you. I don’t often speak to myself but I am really trying to gain a lot of perspective.

Getting Closer on my Reading List:

Relentless: From Good to Great to Unstoppable” by Tim Grover is a motivational and instructive book that draws from Grover’s experience training elite athletes like Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, and Dwyane Wade. The book outlines the mindset and habits necessary to achieve excellence and maintain it. Grover categorizes achievers into three types: Coolers (good), Closers (great), and Cleaners (unstoppable), and emphasizes the importance of mental toughness, relentless drive, and an uncompromising work ethic. He argues that to become unstoppable, one must embrace challenges, ignore limitations, and constantly push beyond comfort zones.

I recently listened to Lewis Howes, School of Greatness podcast on this episode he had Tim Grover on the conversation and the overall philosophy Tim shared was tremendous. I typed this into my phone as I listened to it.

“You get one chance at life Be relentless in you pursuit of your dreams Don’t compete with others make them compete with you.”

By being different, doing things differently, taking risk with unconventional practices, doing the little things, building the right team you can force your so called competitors to compete with you vs. you looking and acting like the others. This is what we do in business everyday my team is always looking to look and be different than the status quo in the home services industry. My upcoming book will be focused on how a home service business separate themselves from the stagnation that lives in that industry.

AI Tools I’ve Been Having Fun With:

Suno AI is an innovative company that uses artificial intelligence to generate music. Founded by former Kensho employees, Suno is designed to create full songs, including vocals and lyrics, based on text prompts provided by users. The platform allows for extensive customization, enabling users to adjust the tempo, instruments, mood, and structure of the song, making it accessible even to those without musical expertise. Suno AI’s mission is to democratize music creation, allowing anyone with an internet connection to produce music.

I think that all of the AI I have been introduced to is amazing and sometimes scary, this one is simply fun to play with. I am currently producing a song for my dock mates on the 900 dock at the lake. It’s taking some time but soon should be pretty cool.

One Last Thing:

Stop complaining about the things you can’t control and start taking ownership over the things you can. I can’t remember exactly where I heard this but I wrote it down and wish so many people would do this we would be better people for it.
