A Series I’ve Been watching…
Recently I have been getting back into golf something over the last 21 years I have made a lot of excuses not to do and it has been humbling to say the least. I have been watching videos on YouTube and one of the shows that I have liked watching is Bryson DeChambeau “Break 50” series. It truly shows myself just how bad I am at golf when I watch Bryson play. He’s posted a lot of videos in the series and I recommend watching just because of how entertaining they are to watch. Linked below is one of my favorite ones which he made with a Long Drive Champion.
Quotes I’m Thinking About:
“Some people die at 25 and aren’t buried until 75” -Benjamin Franklin
“Your time, energy, and money always go to what’s important to you” -Larry Winget
When I read this quote from Larry Winget I took it as, It’s not that we don’t have time. It’s that we don’t have time for the things that are really important. There’s always enough time to do what’s really important, but we get caught up doing things that aren’t important.
Book Recommendation
Psychology of Money by Morgan Housel
This book helped open my eyes and really altered my perspective on money. This book reminded me of another book I have mentioned before in another blog. (Die with Zero by Bill Perkins). It’s a pretty quick read while also being very educational. I really enjoyed the eye opening way that money was talked about throughout the book.
Jim Harbaugh’s Rules to Live By:
Whether you like Jim or not I think these principles are motivating, thought provoking, and actionable. My favorite is GREAT EFFORT GREAT RESULTS.
You may not be religious or believe in God if so skip the first.
- Seek first the Kingdom of God and all else be added onto you.
- Attack each day with an enthusiasm unknown to mankind.
- Who could possibly have it better than you?
- Better today than yesterday – Better tomorrow than today.
- Heroes have no days off.
- Your rate is in your hands. Think, innovate, find solutions. By your talent and effort you will be known.
- Choose a great role model, watch em’- emulate em’ – then make them proud.
- A smile, being pleasant is a small price to pay for the good will and affection of others.
- Discipline yourself daily to be physically fit for life.
- GREAT EFFORT – GREAT RESULTS!

- Seek long & trusting friendships by being happy & helpful for the another guy’s success.
BB’s Rant:
Finally, a few years ago an ad agency came to me and recommended TV advertising. Finally, doesn’t mean others haven’t recommended it, but this was the first time they agreed to the message that I knew people would respond to. No discounts, high pressure sales, Buy 4 get one free. No we decided to talk about best price the first time with no gimmicks, detailed line item proposals, etc. Then one day we took it to another level. I had always proposed doing funny self-deprecating commercials that are still on message. Below is the most liked commercial to date and the common response is it “humanizes you” and that is exactly what I have been saying for years. So thank you to Flanker Media! As I have heard on podcast or seminars self-deprecation is very powerful and my experience confirms that and by not taking myself to seriously we have grown at over 60% annual the last 3 years. We just shot another commercial and I think it may dethrone this one as the favorite. Stay tuned!
