June 2026 Blog

I am writing this the day after our 3rd Annual Customer, Vendor, and Employee Appreciation Party. It was a fun day and I got to talk to a lot of customers, many of which I would consider friends. It’s in moments like that I realize just how grateful I should be for the life I am living. I can’t say it enough, I have a great team. I don’t know if they caught that I was getting a little bit emotional when on stage recognizing them yesterday, but I am committed to making sure they know it and feel it. So again thanks to all of my employees, sub-contractors, vendors and customers none of this would be possible without you.

Nightly Fun

The FIFA World Cup has created a nightly habit for me. Every evening, I open YouTube and look for more videos of people visiting the U.S. and cheering on their favorite teams. Seeing Scottish fans take over Fenway Park, a Japanese man trying Texas BBQ for the first time, and Norwegian fans doing the Viking row everywhere they go is just fun.

What has been truly priceless, though, is hearing what they’re saying about America. Many talk about how friendly Americans are, the sheer size of everything here, and how much they’re genuinely enjoying their visit and the freedoms they experience while they’re here. There are countless videos of Brits plainly stating that the America they’re experiencing is nothing like the one they were led to believe existed. Some have even bluntly said they were lied to about what America is really like.

For me, it’s refreshing to hear such an overwhelmingly positive message from people all over the world about the great country I call home.

A Book That Got Me Thinking

”The Café on the Edge of the World” by John Streckley – It is a simple, fiction-style allegory that reads very quickly but leaves you with a lot to think about regarding your own direction in life. John the main character ends up stranded at a café where he is forced to reevaluate his lifes path, consider his “Purpose for Existing”, slow down, and how he spends his time. The last few weeks have had me thinking about that book a lot I seem to have reverted back a little bit and have allowed too many unnecessary and counter productive thoughts linger in my mind. This affected my mood which in turn affects others around me.

"Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms—to choose one's attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one's own way." -Viktor Frankl, Author of Man's Search for Meaning
